About Prity Banerjee

Prity Banerjee is a social entrepreneur, child rights advocate and POSH trainer with more than fifteen years of leadership experience at the intersection of legal compliance, systemic social change and community development.

She holds an LLB alongside postgraduate qualifications in management and the performing arts — an unusually interdisciplinary foundation that shapes how she works. In organisations, it means POSH training grounded in the actual statute rather than generic sensitisation. In communities, it means advocacy that uses performance, storytelling and cultural expression as instruments of change rather than treating art and activism as separate pursuits.

In 2014 she founded the Little Umbrella Foundation, which she continues to direct. Its work spans child protection, education and gender justice: awareness campaigns against child abuse that have reached over 5,000 children, and Virtual Vidyalaya, a free online education initiative launched to keep underserved children learning through the COVID-19 pandemic. Her mentorship record runs in parallel — she has personally guided more than 500 students into professional degrees and careers, including MBA, LLB and engineering programmes at institutions such as the IITs.

Alongside this she has worked closely with corporate social responsibility divisions, banks and industry bodies, helping them design and run programmes with measurable social outcomes. It is this combination — legal grounding, organisational experience and grassroots credibility — that she brings into a training room.
